Lou Eisen was a principal performer in the Universal Films/Imagine Entertainment/Miramax movie Cinderella Man. Nominated for several Academy Awards, the boxing biopic starred Oscar winners Russell Crowe and Renee Zelwegger. Directed by Ron Howard, Lou played famed boxing trainer Ray Arcel to Russell Crowe's James J. Braddock.
Lou recently appeared at the prestigious Winnipeg Comedy Festival where he performed an abbreviated version of his corporate show, The Angina Monologues for CBC television. Lou is performing The Angina Monologues all across Canada for Heart & Stroke Foundations, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, medical conferences and many corporate business functions. It is an inspirational, funny, moving, motivational, chronicle of how Lou used humor to help expedite his recovery from a heart attack.
Lou also did a guest turn on The Jane Show on Global. He has made frequent television and radio appearances on such shows as CBC TV's Marketplace, Madly Off In All Directions (CBC Radio), Definitely Not The Opera (CBC Radio) Open Mike with Mike Bullard (Comedy Network), Test of Faith (Vision) and Not Just The News (CBC) as well as Comedy At Club 54 (Syndicated).
Lou taped an episode of Comedy Now (Comedy Network) entitled Rhapsody In Lou, as well as a series of Heritage Moments with Patrick Watson for Historica. Lou appeared on the CBC series COMICS! and appeared in the independent movie My Own Private Oshawa. Most Recently, Lou performed at Massey Hall on New Year’s Eve 2006
Lou has also achieved success as a writer, with a Gemini Award nomination for comedy for the CBC special Thick & Thin. Lou is an animation writer too, having worked on YTV’s Monster By Mistake and the adult cartoon Quads.
