"The Angina Monologues Synopsis"

THE ANGINA MONOLOGUES is a funny, heartwarming and inspirational 30-45 minute corporate presentation showcasing the positive therapeutic healing power of humor. Laughter is the best medicine. Mind you, morphine through a slow drip is pretty good too. (It should be noted that the running time of the show can be abbreviated depending on each clients specific needs.)

The Angina Monologues is written and performed by popular Canadian comedian/actor (Cinderella Man) Lou Eisen. On February 23rd, 2005, just months after he finished shooting Cinderella Man, Lou suffered a massive heart attack. The Angina Monologues shows how Lou used humor therapy to help expedite his recovery from a near fatal heart attack. (Author’s note: If it were fatal, you wouldn’t be reading this right now.)

Specifically designed for the corporate environment, The Angina Monologues will show you the health aspects of humor and how they can be utilized to motivate employees who have suffered a major physical or mental trauma. The show is also a great way for employees to relax and enjoy themselves. Easy and effective methods of stress management through humor are highlighted. Humor enables employees to create a harmonious work environment, which, in turn, will increase productivity.

Lou’s touching personal experiences will inspire, amuse and empower anyone who has suffered heart trauma or know someone who has suffered heart trauma.

The Angina Monologues demonstrates how humor can improve your health, sharpen your mental focus, and motivate you to live a healthy, happy and productive life. At the very least, you’ll leave with a smile on your face, which, doesn’t always happen at the end of the workday.

The Angina Monologues illustrates how easily available humor is to everyone and, the value and effectiveness of humor as a force for bonding and positive change in the workplace. Let me take you on a funny and inspirational journey of healing as I transform myself from heart attack patient to productive work force member in less than three months! Find out how your employees can benefit by using humor to live a fuller and more productive life both at work and at home.

Perhaps I should point out that I said humor therapy works “with” and not “instead of” other therapies. Please don’t substitute The Simpsons and Seinfeld for Plavix and Lipitor. You’ll laugh more but you won’t enjoy it as long.

It is true that humor therapy is medically documented to better your health. That being said, if you’re heart is in distress you’d probably prefer a cardiologist to Carrot Top. The Angina Monologues illustrates how simple but positive and powerful humor can be in your daily life. It is a scientific fact that a daily regimen of laughter will help you to survive and thrive. Remember, he/she who laughs last, lives longest!
